As-Salaam Alaykum,

I welcome you to my blog site. I am an Islamic scholar and Muslim activist, an Associate Professor of Islamic Studies at the Lagos State University, Lagos, Nigeria.

I am creating this blog to contribute my quota to enlightening the world concerning errorneous impressions particularly about Islam and to reorientate Muslims around the world.

I detest violence. I am a pacifist to the core. Life is sacred. Arson, looting and other forms of property destruction are antithetical to the teachings of religion. Love is mandatory in worship. I also believe that it is wrong to target a particular race for persecution, torture or killing.

I notice that Muslims are fast becoming endangered species everywhere in the world. This is due to wrong perceptions. Muslims too must not target Westerners for killing or acts of terror. I want peace to reign in the world.

In my country, Nigeria, there is currently a wide gap between Christians and Muslims. It is creating suspicion and endangering law and order. Religious clashes are very frequent in Nigeria. I want to work towards the elimination of religious violence. I am particularly interested in connecting stakeholders from Northern Nigeria with a view to finding solution to frequent religious riots in the North. I need your help, suggestions and initiatives in this regard.

The state of the Nigerian nation is another area of serious concern to me. Nigeria's politics, her economy, its epileptic power supply, the comatose education system, widespread poverty, etc.
