PRESS RELEASE:
POLITICAL ORPHAN: MURIC ADVISES GOV ADELEKE TO SEEK GOD'S
FORGIVENESS
The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has advised the executive
governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, to seek the forgiveness of God in
order to find a way out of his present political conundrum.
The advice came after the governor opted out of his former
political party at the twilight of a gubernatorial election and found himself
searching for a political platform to seek a second term at the eleventh
hour.
MURIC's counsel was given by its Executive Director, Professor
Ishaq Akintola, on Monday, 8th December, 2025.
The statement reads:
"Political pundits recently described Governor Ademola
Adeleke of Osun State as a political orphan. This was sequel to the
governor's formal exit from his former political party and his prolonged search
for a platform to launch his second term ambition (https://saharareporters.com/2025/12/06/osun-governor-adeleke-party-orphan-apc-chieftain-says-after-supreme-court-ruling-council).
"While MURIC agrees with those who label the governor as a
political orphan, we cannot but identify the raison d'etre for the
governor's present predicament.
"It is not human. It is divine. Governor Adeleke
himself had played the double game with his Creator. He is a Christian in the
morning but claims to be a Muslim by noon. This Jekyll and Hyde game may be
responsible for present Adeleke's political quagmire.
"Deep inside him the governor is a Christian and even the
monkeys of Idanre forest know this. But he sought to deceive the Muslims whom
he had cheated by picking a Christian as a deputy governor in a predominantly
Muslim state.
“He also gave the Muslims seven commissioners only while the
Christians enjoyed the luxury of seventeen. These two pro-Christian acts have
already given the governor away that he is a Christian. This is the secret
behind his choice of 'Nurudeen' as his Muslim nomenclature and Jackson as
his real Christian name.
"He once declared, 'I am both a Muslim and a
Christian' (https://greenbreporters-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/greenbreporters.com/news/i-am-both-a-muslim-and-christian-i-will-soon-be-alhaji-prophet-gov-adeleke-of-osun.html/).
"This declaration forced MURIC to accuse him of
engaging in ‘shakala-shokolo antics’ in May 2024 (https://saharareporters.com/2024/05/06/osun-governor-adeleke-showing-symptoms-personality-crisis-syndrome-saying-he-practises).
"In essence, however, Muslims of Osun State were the losers
in the Adeleke hide and seek game. In actual fact, Muslims of Osun state
collectively deserve the Nobel Prize for tolerating a Christian-Christian
ticket for four years without heading to America to complain of 'Muslim
genocide'. For if Muslim-Muslim ticket is equal to Christian genocide (at
least that is the gospel according to Rev Ezekiel Dachomo), nothing stops
Christian-Christian ticket from being Muslim genocide.
"We warned him at the time but he would not listen. We told
him to stop desecrating Islam but he ignored us (https://theeagleonline.com.ng/muric-to-gov-adeleke-stop-desecrating-islam/).
"What Governor Adeleke fails to realise is that Muslims can
still accept a candidate in a multi-religious eco-system like Nigeria even if
he is a Christian. The only condition is that there should be either a good
record or firm assurance of fairness to Muslims, ability to deliver good
governance and evidence of the fear of God.
"As things stand, Adeleke needs to get closer to
his Creator. He must seek forgiveness. We advise him to go to church in order
to do that. He will be wasting his time if he comes to the mosque. He doesn’t belong
here. Osun Muslims, nay, Nigerian Muslims know where he belongs. His soft
landing in 2026 depends on the sincerity of his repentance.
“There is hope but he should stop trying to deceive the Muslims. Adeleke’s
case, particularly his current cul de sac may serve as a lesson for
other politicians who are deceiving Muslims. Allah is the One whom no eye can
see but Who encompasses all visions (Glorious Qur’an 6:103).
“To Governor Jackson Adeleke we have this to say, ‘You brought this
upon yourself by trying to deceive God. Stop running from pillar to post. Be
the Christian that you really are and those who will vote for you will still
vote for you based on your performance in the past four years.
“But first, go to your Cherubim and Seraphim Church. Kneel down,
roll on the floor as you usually do and cry to Almighty God with a sincere
heart for forgiveness. You will receive His Grace because, according to
Alexander Pope, ‘To sin is human, to forgive, divine.”
